It is a classic and this recipe brings a kick of flavor to it with some chili flakes and other wonderful seasoning in the cream cheese layer. They are fun to make too and everyone is sure to love them!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
For this Cream Cheese Turkey Rolll Up recipe you will need:
For 2 servings:
- 2 8-inch tortillas – White flour are always great with this but you can make it more exciting with different flavors and colors like spinach or tomato.
- 4 ounces cream cheese – This gives a great layer of creaminess, a layer to hold some spice and seasoning, and is important in keeping the roll together. You will want to take it out before hand to soften.
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large lettuce leaves – You want them to be close to the size of your tortilla
- 4 ounces sliced turkey meat – Oven roasted makes for a nice flavor edition.
- 2 ounces sliced cheddar cheese – You can also switch it up with other types of cheese for variety like swiss or pepper jack.
How to Make Cream Cheese Turkey Rolls Ups:
Step 1. Place your 4 ounces of softened cream cheese in a bowl and add in the 1/2 teaspoon red chili flakes, 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Mix it together with a fork until thoroughly combined.
Step 2. Lay your 2 tortillas on a large cutting board and spread the cream cheese mix on each one with a knife.
Step 3. Add the next layer of lettuce, then around 2 ounces of sliced turkey meat per tortillas, then 1 ounce of cheese per tortilla. Place the cheese in a line down the middle of each tortilla. I have found that doing a full layer of cheese is too much and the flavor overwhelms the rolls. One line down the middle, around an inch or two wide seems to be a good balance.
Step 4. Slowly and tightly roll the tortilla and then cut into 4 pieces. It is easiest to cut in half and then in half again. You can secure each small roll with a toothpick to keep it together.
Enjoy!
Pro Tips:
– Take your cream cheese out of the fridge 30 minutes before hand so it can soften. If you have less time, remove the wrapper and microwave it for about 10 seconds on each side (20 seconds total).
What To Do With The Leftovers:
Storing:
This may store well in the refrigerator for 4-5 days.
Meal Prepping:
If you want to prep a bit before hand and make these fresh the day of, you can make your ccream cheese mix, slice your cheese, and prep your lettuce leaves
Pairs Well With:
This goes well as a lunch with fresh fruit and chips or by itself as a snack or finger food.
