Garlic Bread

Garlic bread recipe

When you are eating spaghetti, or any type of pasta at all, there is nothing better than soaking up the extra sauce with a fluffy piece of garlic bread. Garlic bread can go really well or really bad, but when it is good it is GOOD! I care deeply about bread so believe me, I have spent the time putting together the PERFECT garlic bread recipe. It has the perfect, crispiness on the outside and soft fluffiness on the inside. It is buttery, and salty, with the perfect amount of garlic, parmesan, and parsley to pull it all together. I know this is a side dish but have as many pieces as you want. Again. I love bread. I will not judge.

Ingredients You’ll Need:

Servings: About 16 slices

Active time: 15 minutes Total time: 30 minutes

For this Garlic Bread Recipe you will need:

• 1 loaf of artisan bread – You can use whatever type you would like but I prefer artisan
• 1 cup of softened salted butter – To soften, leave it out on the counter for a while, or microwave for about 10 seconds and then flip and do 10 more seconds. The goal is to have it soft but not melting.
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 3-4 minced garlic cloves – can substitute with about 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
• 6 tablespoons shredded parmesan – It is important for the taste and texture that you do shredded and not grated here.
• 2 tablespoons chopped parsley – to add some extra flavor, but mostly to add a sprinkle of color

How to Make Garlic Bread:

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Step 2. Grab a bowl and mix all of your ingredients together except for the bread. Make sure your butter is soft but not melted. Leave it out on the counter for a while or microwave it for just a few seconds on each side.

Step 3. Slice your bread into 3/4-inch thick slices. This should result in around 16 slices, depending on the length of your loaf. Generously spread your butter mix on both sides. You can adjust how much butter you use based on your own preferences. I personally like to put a lot on there! Also – please, please use shredded parmesan and not grated parmesan. This will make the texture and the flavor so much better!

Step 4. Wrap your bread slices together in foil, set on a sheet pan, and put it in the oven for 15 minutes on the middle rack. This heats the bread evenly while allowing the butter and parmesan to melt into the bread. The foil keeps the bread from burning.

Step 5. After 15 minutes, set your oven on high broil. Carefully remove the tray from the oven and close it quickly so the heat does not escape. Carefully open the foil (please do not burn yourself), and spread out the bread slices. Put it back in the oven on broil for 2 more minutes. You can do it longer if you would like it to be more crispy, just keep a good eye on it as it can burn super quickly (may 0r may not know from experience).

Step 6. Remove the pan from the oven. Wrap the foil around the bread again to keep it hot until ready to serve.

Enjoy!

What To Do With The Leftovers:

Storing:

This may store well in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.

Reheating:

Wrap in aluminum foil and heat in the oven again at 350 for 10 minutes, but skip the broiling step.

If you have less time, you can even stick your garlic bread in the toaster!

Meal Prepping:

One of the great things about this is that you can make the garlic butter any time and store it in the fridge for 2 weeks or even freeze it for 3 months! You can freeze it in an ice cube tray to make it easy to thaw small amounts at a time. Whenever you are ready to enjoy it, you just have to let it thaw, spread it on your bread, and stick it in the oven!
